2026 Road Surfacing Program

Hello,

The City of Fishers is preparing for the 2026 Road Resurfacing Program, with construction anticipated to begin in late April or early May and continue through October, with all work expected to be complete in October, weather and material permitting.

We have created this stakeholder group to keep you informed throughout the duration of the project. While a detailed construction schedule is not yet available, we will begin sharing more specific timelines, phasing, and impacts as soon as that information is finalized.

This year’s resurfacing work will take place in several areas across the city, including:

  • 131st Street (Cumberland Rd. to Promise Rd.)
  • Howe Road (131st St. to 141st St. )
  • Promise Road (126th St. to 131st St.)
  • Sunblest
  • Sumerlin Trails
  • Rosewood
  • Weaver Woods, Woods North, and Creek neighborhoods

Maps outlining these locations, and the specific streets impacted within neighborhoods, are included for your reference.

As we begin planning construction, we are coordinating closely to minimize impacts to key community partners, including schools, transportation providers, churches, local businesses, and youth programming. Based on current planning:

  • Work near school areas, including Howe Road and other high bus traffic corridors, will be scheduled to avoid peak school operations when possible and may be shifted later in the construction season.
  • Areas with heavy school and bus traffic, such as Harrison Parkway and nearby corridors, are also anticipated to be completed later to reduce disruption.
  • Coordination and communication with community partners with summer programming or large events to help minimize access impacts will be provided.

In general, residents can expect activities such as curb and pavement marking, localized repairs, milling, and resurfacing. Crews will also place door hangers and signage in advance of work to notify directly impacted properties as well as placing signage throughout the area. We have included a copy of the door tag to share with your residents and for your general information.

During active construction, there may be temporary lane restrictions, temporary no parking permitted, flagging operations in neighborhood areas, and brief access impacts during active construction. Some neighborhoods may also experience more involved work, including base repairs or driveway and curb adjustments. We will continue to provide updates ahead of any significant changes.

We recognize the importance of maintaining access and minimizing disruption for school transportation, events, and daily operations. As schedules are finalized, we will share detailed updates and coordinate directly with affected groups as needed.

We appreciate your patience as we complete this important infrastructure work to improve roadway conditions across the city.

If you have any questions, specific scheduling considerations, or events we should be aware of, please feel free to reach out. You can contact [email protected] or visit FishersIN.gov/RoadConstruction for updates and additional general project information.

Thank you!
